Pretty good turnout for 9:00 Saturday Morning (May 15th). We had abotu 15 onlookers.
After removing the carbs, shroud, exhaust, and alternator, I pull the
valve covers and chain
Now we pull the right chain and chain box.
After removing the head nuts, the right bank of heads and cam tower can be removed as a unit.
Look at those little 2.2 liter cylinders!
OOPS! Someone installed #2 upside down. See the shiny spot where the valve was kissing the piston?
And now for a little leverage to remove the cam nut. Let's see, a 290 lb. man with a three foot pipe....uh...it was pretty tight!
That's it. We stopped at the short block.
