The weather is still pretty grim

Kevin readies himself for a last stint

11:50 Pit stop for driver change and gas, no tires, still running rains.

Outahere!

12:30...Back to 16th s0pot but still sixth in GT3.

Time ticks down....

`12:45 RAIN COMES BAQCK IN EARNEST.  Rooster tails form the Can AM cars, but Kevin's stiull on rain tires and expected to finish out the session without a stop.

It5 looks like cars are crawling out there since about half the field got stuck on slicks.  They try to stretch it out for a final 10 minutes...

12:50: IT IS PORING.  Noone on pit lane at the moment as thye try to tip toe throught he final moments.

12:54..six minutres to go and about two laps...Kevin is able to kleep up the pace oint he rains....

hEADLIGHTS ON, WINDSHEILD WIPERS GOING....

15 FULL COURSE CAUTIOONS...19 MINUTES IN, 54 MINUTES in, seemed like once an hour for the first six hours, next was at 2:11 (71 minutes in).

The corvettes do their final lap in formation

Here comes the pack of 911s

Taking the checker

Kevin compltes the final lap

Then into the pits for the celebration...Up as high as 9th overall, 2nd in class, lost position due to four destroyed CV joints...
Sixth in class and Fifteeenth overall, an excellent placing for perhaps the lowest budget in GT3, in a car based on a 911 SC with trailing arm suspension!

Nice fender!  Everyone is elated that the car with Kevin Buckler, Mike COnte, Nick Holt and Bruno Lambert was able to go the distance and move up 35 positions in 24 hours..

Kevin presents me with a cerimonial beer!

And the last thing to doto wrap the weekend, tape up my own bumper from the same roll that kept the nose on number 68.
So much for drunks in the hooters parkinglot!
