Number One:  Find a CHEAP shell with a decent floor pan, if possible, that won't make you cry when you hack the roof off.

Remove all windows, dash, doors, fenders, gas tank, etc.

Oh yeah, it's a beauty.  Nice solid roof though...
 
 

Step One:  Cut the B-pillars.  If it's about 98 degrees, wait until just before dark!  That way if you screw up you wont notice until morning.

Step 2 - Cut the A-pillars

Step 3 Cut the C- pillars using the provided template

Step 3, keep cutting.

Here's what the cut looks like, just before we pull the roof.

Step 4 lift off the roof!

Now have the Lovely Lydia the Learned pose by the decapitated member!

Now jump in the truck and go buy some beer.  It's late and hot, and even Schaefer tasets good!

Like a hangover, it lurks in the morning light....2 trash cans full of garbage.  Interior, headliner, etc. "What the hell are we doing?!?!?!"

Notice how much more slope there is to the 996 windshield.

So far we have maybe 2 hours in it, if that.  That included gutting the car and setting the windshield frame on.  It has not been tacked in place yet.  Since it's 88 degrees and only 8 am, time to take a break!  8am, Thursday, August 9, 2001.
